A beautifully plain and elegant Antique silver George III period sweet basket made in London in 1803 by Thomas Wallis. It has a swing handle and is of oval shape with reeded borders and the original initial ‘Y’ engraved to the centre. The ‘Y’ initial according to the last owner of the basket pertains to the famous scientist Thomas Young (1773-1829).
