A beautiful and superb quality kettle and stand in early eighteenth century style (c1720) made by Lionel Alfred Crichton ( Crichton Brothers) in London in 1920.The kettle is of plain ‘ bullet ‘ form and is hand engraved on one side with a cartouche and sits upon a stand with pannelled legs .There are two pins to affix the kettle to the stand and when the rear one is removed one can pour the kettle without removing it from the stand ( It is fully removable by taking out the front pin). The kettle still retains it’s original adjustable burner and it’s original fruit wood swing handle .The kettle is in excellent condition and made by one of the most important makers of the period. It retains all its original fittings.Enclosed in the pictures is an advert for Crichton Bros from 1920 (The same year the kettle was made and this kettle is one of their masterly reproductions from an original.)
