A beautiful design on this Southern-Persian antique Qashqai rug from the early 20th century. From one of the federation of six tribes in the south of Persia in the Fars region, this is a finer example than most, well drawn and beautifully executed by the weaver over 100 years ago. Amazing rosette motifs, star motifs, large geometric leaves and minor boteh borders. Full of wonderful tribal motifs, the natural ivory wool main border and small medallion lift the whole palette. A fantastic rug available to view at home or in our barn showroom now.
Condition is very good indeed, with no wear and no losses to the pattern at both ends, there is even original end finishes. A wonderful variation of dyes, and abrash in the blues and red tones. A collectable and beautiful antique tribal rug to be used on the floor or hung on a wall.
