A very rare model of a standing sponged decorated pig modeled standing against the trunk of a tree on a green base. Pigs were not a fashionable figure to produce in the early 19th century,, hence the rarity,this piece captures the innate charm and character of the animal. Made in Portobello a small town just out side Edinburgh in the early 19th century period.NOTE;Winston Churchill commented that a pig would always treat you as an equal unlike cats!
