Antique Kazak rug.
Kazak rugs are among the most prized of all Caucasian pieces. Famed for their rich colours and assertive drawings, they make exciting additions to any room. Their bold large scale designs and rugged authenticity are highly appreciated by collectors and they make excellent accent rugs in contemporary settings.
An early Kazak rug with a bold graphic drawing and wonderful range of vegetable dyed colours including ivory, green, yellow, red, light blue and olive greens and brown. An attractive and distinctive feature of this rug is that each drawing in the main border is creatively repeated in a different colour combination.
A great early example that is becoming rare to find in this condition.
