An attractive late 19th century Oriental hardwood Coffee Table, or Pot Stand, having inset marble top over carved frieze raised on four cabriole legs.

Made in China specifically for the western export market from the middle and through the end of the
19th century these small hardwood tables come in a huge variety of sizes, shapes and forms.

This is a nice example with well defined carving and a good marble top.

There were also many of these tables made in the early 20th century, which are generally of much obvious lesser quality, but this is very much a 19th century example.

Circa 1870.

Height - 18in.
Width - 16in.
Depth - 16in.
