A very attractive late 19th century mahogany Hall Bench, or Window Seat, having well figured top with applied triangulated rolls to each end.

Raised on elegant turned legs headed with carved decoration.

These benches often follow a fairly typical design, but this particular example is slightly different in terms of the triangulation of the turned rolls to the top and also the carved decoration to each leg.

We personally feel these are excellent additions to the norm and give the piece a real elegance.

It is also a very good, functional size and is very sturdy, so fit for the wide variety of different purposes you could potentially have in mind for it.

Whether you are looking for something underneath a window, along the wall in a narrow hallway, behind the settee, to perch on at the end of the bed, or even as a very narrow but low coffee table, this lovely item may just be exactly what you need.

Circa 1870.

Height - 19.5in.
