Large 19th century carved Portland stone garden figure of Pan. Who in ancient Greek religion and mythology is the god of the wild, shepherds, flocks and sexuality.
Pan is know for impromptus music on his pipe and was friends of the nymphs. Pan become a significant figure of romance in the Roman times which is as significant today in the twenty first century.
The whole is of excellent size and beautifully weathered. It is made in two sections.

It stands 2meters high, the base 34 x 33 cm.
