A charming five sided Boughpot by Henry Kettle (c. 1773–97). 


Veneered in harewood with oval panels of yew wood. The central panel depicts a neo-classical scene 'Sacrifice of Hymen' from a design engraved by Bartolozzi after Cipriani.

The design of festoons  running along the top and bottom of the pot along with the stylised pearls framing the central panel and yew wood panels are typical of Henry Kettle. 
Retains the original liner.
