A delightful George I period walnut Bureau Bookcase of diminutive proportions.

Having recently re-silvered original bevelled mirror glass to single cabinet door, enclosing fitted interior with adjustable shelves over three long drawers. Raised on original bracket feet.

A beautiful example of its type, this bureau bookcase retains a lovely warm colour and has been constructed from extremely well chosen, highly figured walnut veneers.

The overall size and proportion is rarely found and it is small enough to fit just about any space or environment one could begin to imagine.

The mirror in the door is almost certainly the original glass plate, and has been recently re-silvered, giving the best of both worlds in terms of originality, but also function.

The brass ring handles are not the originals but are of the style which it would have been fitted with originally and therefore sit most comfortably on the piece.

It's rare to find the combination of good condition, diminutive size and relative originality on something of this age of course and these are hugely desirable qualities.

Circa 1720.

Height - 73.5in.
Width - 26.5in.
