18th century fruitwood three legged stool.
- Charming piece of folk, vernacular, country furniture oozing character.
- It was most likely intended as a love token or to commemorate a child as there is not much wear on the underside of the legs so it has not been used as a seat and it would only be practical for use by a young child.
- A sculptural conversation and statement piece.
- Exceptionally rare, I have not seen another.
- In original condition.
England, circa 1780.
An exceptionally rare 18th century fruitwood three legged stool with a 1" or 2cm thick heart shaped top on three splayed legs. Exceptional original colour and patina.
Provenance : Jane Summer Collection.
