A delightful 18th century George III period oval gilt Pier Mirror of good proportion.
Having attractive scrolling foliate carved surmount over attractive frame, with stop flute carved decoration enclosing replaced mirror plate.
An elegant mirror of a size which isn't found particularly often. In genuine 18th century examples this mirror exudes class.
The mirror plate has been replaced at some point, which means it is very much usable whilst still retaining a little evidence of ageing.
The gilding to the frame is mostly original, having been touched up in just a few small areas. Overall the mirror has a lovely vivid feel to it, which is almost impossible to recreate.
Circa 1770.
Height - 48in.
