English Creamware Pottery Teapot and Cover with Rare Fish Scale Design.

Origin: Probably Leeds, Yorkshire.

Date: Circa 1770s.

Description: This creamware teapot and cover exhibit a cylindrical form, featuring raised beading at the foot and shoulder of the pot, as well as at the rim of the cover. The body and cover are adorned with a repetitive fish scale design in orange and white. Notably, the double loop handles terminate in molded green leaf motifs with an orange flower. The spout is reeded.

It is plausible that this distinctive decoration was executed at the Leeds enamelling shop.
