A Dutch Neoclassical Mahogany Armoire With Floral Marquetry Inlay. Dutch, Circa 1770.
The impressive and very decorative armoire has a moulded broken pediment with a central urn, above panelled cabinet doors with fine marquetry inlay of vases issuing flowers and ribbon tied shell motifs.
The body of the cabinet dates from circa 1770, it's plain surfaces enlivened with rich floral marquetry inlay in the mid-19th century to bring it bang up-to-date with the prevailing fashion.
