Very good quality brown leather hippopotamus footstool firmly attributed to Liberty of London.
English Mid 20th Century circa 1960.
Wonderful quality large leather hippo by Liberty (of London). The quality and styling have all the indications of firmly attributing it to these makers.
Retaining its original green glass eyes, ears and white teeth standing with mouth open wide, the leatherwork covers the entire piece, even inside the open mouth, with intricate tooling including vertical lines and detailing over the body, definition of eyes and feet.
Very good quality and in lovely original condition with a good patina to the leather.
