For sale is this set of six silver and enamel napkin rings. Each ring set with an enamel plaque with number one through to six in gilt lettering. The enamel plaques are set within a silver back held to the napkin ring with four silver rivets in classic arts and crafts style. The interior of each ring scratch marked “ND /05” for Nelson Dawson, and I believe the date 1905. In very good original condition, there are slight variations to the red enamels that I believe are original. A rare and wonderful survival.
Nelson Dawson and his wife Edith were early innovators in the area of metalwork and enamel in this period of the arts and crafts movement.
