An erotic miniature on vellum attributed to Carl Gustav Klingstedt (1657-1734). An amusing scene; a lady has snuck into the monks chamber in the guise of one of their own, a pipe puffing monk behind her locks the door whilst she plays with the beard of the other who is wearing her bonnet & playing with her fan, she is clutching a glass of wine & you can only imagine what happens next! The gilt frame is probably original. French, early 18th century. Measures 8.8 x 7cm.
