THIS 16TH CENTURY ENGLISH CORBEL DEPICTS A SATYRESS, THE FEMALE EQUIVALENT OF A MALE SATYRE. SEATED WITH HER BREASTS PROTRUDING FORWARD, HER FAWN LIKE LEGS WITH LARGE HOOFS BELOW. MOST PROBABLY FROM A BEAM END. POSSIBLY EAST ANGLIA. CIRCA 1520.
