A very rare and exceptionally fine example of a William and Mary period Kingwood oyster veneered miniature chest of drawers raised on bun feet.
The gilt metal handles, locks and escutcheons are all original.
Possibly from the workshop of Thomas Pistor of Ludgate Hill, London, 1668 - 1706, who was well known for his use of oyster veneers. This extremely expensive exotic wood was also known as Princes wood, and was only used on highly prized pieces.
