A fine Queen Anne period Walnut Bureau, English, circa 1710.

Of outstanding colour and patination veneered and cross banded with herringbone line throughout, and retaining all original backplates, handles and escutcheons.

The fall front with original book rest, opening to reveal a lovely fitted interior with arched top shelves and drawers around a central cupboard. With a hidden recessed compartment in front of the leathered writing surface.

With two short and two long drawers on a moulded base raised on high square bracket feet. An exceptional early 18th century bureau.
