A beautiful late Victorian emerald and diamond bangle circa 1890s, designed as a graduated row of eleven clusters, the largest in the centre and tapering to each side, each set with an emerald-cut emerald surrounded by a frame of old cut diamonds in silver cut down collect settings, all mounted in gold, the bangle with graduated shoulders formed of three bars and with hinged opening at the side with tongue and box clasp and safety chain. This lovely bangle is set with vibrant emeralds which have been well matched for colour, the tapering is elegant and the setting is open allowing maximum light into the stones. The Victorians associated emeralds with vitality, re-birth and new beginnings, hopefully this beautiful antique will soon have a new beginning of its own.
