The Salt Cellars each stand on an oval pedestal foot decorated with a double reeded edge.
The main body is "Boat" shaped in form with a reeded rim and each end displays an unusual "onslow" pattern scroll for carrying.
The main body is decorated with bat wing fluting which is an unusual design, which was used in the workshops of Podio & Peterson.
The interiors display pale gilding and each is very well marked in the foot. Both Cellars are in quite excellent condition.
Podio and Peterson were very fine silversmiths who specialised in the production of reeded silver of a restrained Classical design.
