A very fine pair of George III Wine Coasters made in London in 1779 by Robert Hennell.

The Wine Coasters are circular in form with a spreading reeded base and beaded rim.  The sides are beautifully pierced with two bands of Classical vitruvian scrolls, as well as Classical urns in ovals.  The sides are also decorated with engraved foliate garlands and a circular vacant bright cut cartouche.  The Coasters are in excellent condition, are very well marked and display their original turned fruitwood bases.
