A Very Fine Marquetry Inlaid Occasional Table.
Firmly Attributed to François Linke.
This fine table, closely related to other examples by François Linke, is veneered with tulipwood and dressed with fine ormolu mounts; the circular table supported on cabriole legs with scrolled sabot feet and foliate espagnolettes, the frieze set with the cabinetmaker’s signature crab-like acanthus mount; the top exhibiting a fine marquetry floral bouquet composed of various specimen woods, within a boxwood strung, kingwood crossbanded and tulipwood reserve and an ormolu guard.
French, circa 1905.
