Unusual Silver Hunter Fusee English Lever.

Hallmarked London: 1853.

Depth: 8.5 mm.

A mid 19th Century English lever by McCabe of unusual design in a silver full hunter case.  Gilt keywind movement with fusee and chain, the barrel under a bridge in a circular aperture in the plate. Harrison’s maintaining power. Engraved cock with diamond endstone.  Polished steel regulator, the index engraved on the plate.  Plain three arm gold balance with blue steel spiral hairspring sunk in a circular aperture in the plate.  

English table roller lever escapement.  Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands.  Plain silver full hunter case with ribbed middle, gold hinges. Number corresponding to that on the movement, maker’s mark “CBH” in an rectangle and additionally “IMC” and “SS”.
