Unusual Chinese Blue and White Spice Box with Cover.
The hexagonal body with three interior compartments, moulded to each end with a mask head, the body decorated with blooming flowers between diaper pattern borders, the cover decorated similarly, also featuring lotus buds floating on a gently rippling pool; all raised on a short flared foot, the diamond border at the top rim is repeated on the cover, the border at the flaring foot is triangular work, the lid cut out to fit on compartment, the base glazed.
Period: Kangxi (1662-1722).
