A rare antique white ironstone tongue plate, decorated simply with dimensional bold typography in the middle of the platter. Produced by A.G. Richardson in the first quarter of the 20th century, the underside is marked with the belted Crown Ducal Ware trademark.
Among the rarest of tongue plate designs, this simple but striking example has a lovely crisp strike of the cross shaded black transfer and displays beautifully.
