Tiffany & Co Diamond And Sapphire Bombé Ring In 18ct Gold Circa 1970s.
A vintage 18ct gold, diamond and sapphire dress ring by Tiffany & Co. circa 1970s, the domed shape bombé ring pavé set throughout with round faceted diamonds and sapphires in a diagonal banded stripe, the sapphires set in yellow gold and the diamonds in platinum, all main stones interspersed with little diamond points in bezel settings, to a plain D-shape band with tapering shoulders.

This style known as 'bombé' is named after the French dessert 'bombé glacée' a spherical ice cream treat. Tiffany sold rings of this shape in the late 1970's until mid 1980's and they usually featured diamonds, rubies and sapphires in various combinations set across the curved surface of the jewel.
