An early 20th Century silver chain and fob depicting the patron saint of actors. The chain of large hollow oval links engraved around the edge. "T" bar close to one end of the chain and spring clip on the other. Short length of the chain to an unusual pierced cast silver fob depicting Saint Genesius.
The Saint is holding a mask which swivels. On one side the mask bears a frown, on the other a smile. Around the scene "Saint Genesius – Guide my Destiny". Marked "Weston – Sterling" on the reverse.
Genesius of Rome is primarily considered the patron saint of actors. He is also the patron saint of lawyers, barristers, clowns, comedians, converts, dancers, people with epilepsy, musicians, printers, stenographers, and victims of torture.
