Hallmarked: London, 1795

A late 18th Century English verge with windmill automaton dial in silver pair cases.  Full plate fire gilt movement with fusee and chain.  Pierced and engraved cock, silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring.  

White enamel dial, the centre with a polychrome enamel scene of a central windmill, its gold sails rotating on the contrate wheel arbor situated below twelve.  The riverside scene with a church and bridge in the background.  

In the foreground a fisherman on the bank.  Narrow chapter of Arabic numerals, gold hands.  Silver pair cases, plain inner with maker’s mark "TC" in a rectangle.  

Contemporary silver outer case of excellent fit with an engraved monogram.  Lateral steel stop lever acting in the contrate wheel.

In excellent overall condition, the dial well painted.
