Silver Pair Cased Oddfellows Dial Verge.

A mid 19th Century English verge with polychrome enamel dial of the Oddfellows Society in silver pair cases. Full plate fusee movement with round pillars.

Pierced and engraved round cock, polished steel regulator on top plate below the plain three arm steel balance. White enamel dial, polychrome enamel and gilt centre painted with two women and Oddfellows symbols, the all seeing eye above and below the motto "Amicita Amor et Veritas".  

Around the scene "Independent Order of Odd Fellows Manchester Unity". Roman numerals, gilt  hands. Silver pair cases, plain silver inner with silver oval pendant and bow, maker's mark "JH" in an oval. Plain silver outer case with faded mark.

Hallmarked London 1841.
