Silver Pair Cased Massey I by Litherland.

Signed: Litherland Davies & Co  - Liverpool.
Hallmarked Chester: 1824.
Diameter: 56 mm.
Depth: 12 mm.

An early 19th Century Massey type one lever by Litherland Davies in silver pair cases.   Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement with gilt dust cover.  Harrison’s maintaining power. Chased and engraved cock with diamond endstone, a representation of a flowers on the table and marked “Patent Detach’d”.  

Plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring, blue steel Bosley regulator.  Massey type one lever escapement.  Off white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel Breguet hands.  Matching silver pair cases, silver oval pendant and bow, blue steel  lateral lever to start and stop the watch. Maker’s mark “TH&Co” in a rectangle, number corresponding to that on the movement.
