Regency Convex Mirror.
A Regency Carved Giltwood Convex Mirror.
England Circa 1820.
Height 50” (128cm) Width 25 ½” (65cm).
Country House condition.
This substantial mirror has ebonised and reeded border and a further giltwood beaded border. It is encased in an inset ball decorated frame with a moulded outer rim. The crest consists of a winged eagle on a pedestal above a rockwork ground. The lower carved frieze displays a pair of candle holders in the form of silver gilt serpents issuing from carved foliage centred by a small lion mask.
