A RARE MINIATURE CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE ‘BAMBOO’ VASE
Of tubular ‘bamboo’ form with four sections divided by raised ridges and a flared mouth rim, decorated in shades of underglaze blue, the body painted with a design of birds perched amidst bamboo, each segment continuing into the next but separated by three lines in underglaze blue, with a double line in underglaze blue at the mouth and foot rim, the interior rim with a fine band of triangle work, the base glazed.
