A rare George III Handbag Vinaigrette made in Birmingham in 1822 by Lawrence & Company.

This unusual Vinaigrette is realistically modelled as a handbag and is engraved all over with diamond pattern and displays a vacant oval cartouche.

This piece has arched twisted handles and opens up to reveal a finely gilded interior and grille pierced and engraved with pluming scrolls and flower heads.

This piece is very well marked inside and is in excellent condition. A near identical example is shown on page 111 of 'Investing in Silver' by Eric Delieb.

Dimensions

Length: 1 inch, 2.5 cm., Width: 1 inch, 2.5cm.
