A rare George II Bucket Cream Pail made in London in 1752 by Edward Aldridge.
This example is one of the earliest cream pails which we have offered for sale over the years and pails from this period are always modelled in this solid "Bucket" form, copying the milk maids pail. This piece has straight sides decorated with raised horizontal reeded bands to simulate the metal bands on the bucket. The arched handle is pierced with ovals and the front of the main body is engraved with a contemporary Crest. The quality of production is also very fine, as this piece is of a good gauge of silver and is in excellent condition, also displaying a very crisp set of hallmarks on the base.
