Quarter Repeating Gold Verge with Painted Dial.

Circa: 1820.
Diameter: 56 mm.

An early 19th Century quarter repeating French verge with polychrome enamel dial in a decorative gold case.   Full plate gilt fusee movement.  Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator.  Push pendant quarter repeating on two steel gongs.

Attractive enamel dial, the centre with a painted polychrome enamel riverside scene.  Gold mask with oval piercing to reveal the Arabic numerals on the enamel dial, blue steel Breguet hands. Decorative 18 carat open face case.  The back with a swirl pattern in chased and engraved repousse work around an oval cartouche engraved with a star.  

Rope pattern repousse  middle, gold push pendant.  Wound through the signed gilt cuvette, engraved edge.  In a red velvet lined morocco box signed for a Hannover retailer.
