A beautiful Portuguese needlepoint hand-woven by craftsmen and women using the same techniques that were first exported to England centuries ago.  The wool is very soft as it is from New Zealand and this piece was hand-woven by Atlantico Rugs in London around 15 years ago.  The large scale floral design has been beautifully woven and the colours are really lovely and easy to place in a room or scheme around.  This needlepoint would look wonderful in a bedroom, either at the foot of a bed or under a bed for example, but it could be placed in a drawing room too.  A beautiful palette of colours using soft lilacs, muted purple tones and greens with apricot tones.

We supply included in the price, excellent anti-slip underlay with all our needlepoints, kilims and carpets which helps keep them safe and flat on any floor type.

The weave is still Arraiolos long-armed cross-stitch method of manufacture and all hand dyed wool using natural dyes. Arraiolos is where these Portuguese needlework carpets are from a town in the province of Alto Alentejo in southern Portugal.  The weave on this needlepoint is Arraiolos long-armed cross-stitch along with hand dyed wool using natural dyes. The Portuguese are also known for weaving specific types of Portuguese rugs that are called Alpujarras Rugs.
