Inlaid to the top and side with basket-weave parquetry ,the rectangular top with canted front corners and centered oval with flowering rose branches, with stiff leaf and dart cast edge above a plain frieze and three doors each containing a shelf , the central door with a roundel on a basket-weave ground depicting  Erato playing her lyre , the side doors with standing Terpsichore playing a lyre, the other carrying a staff , above scrolling honeysuckle tendrils, with rosette-fitted lower edge ,on acanthus cast toupe feet, with Dunns Depositories label to reverse .

Provenance ....The Hon , Mrs Audrey Pleydell- Bouverie at Julians Park , Hertfordshire  .

Of note ......English furniture of the 18th century is very rarely " ormolu mounted " and certainly not of this quality and strong design  .. The quality and drawing of the inlays is of the absolute finest and in our opinion the inlays to the front are simply quite majestic placing this piece in the top category of all eighteenth century English antiques .
