Persian Heriz carpet with a desirable allover design. It dates to around 1900 and is a beautiful example of its type.
The field on a rich red ground is filled with various plant motifs, mostly in pale hues of blue, yellow and pink. The main border with plant designs on a dark blue ground contains the richness of the field in a most satisfactory manner.
This room size carpet is in perfect condition, with a full wool pile on a cotton foundation. All dyes are derived from natural dye stuffs.
This is a very smart decorative carpet.
