Pair of Meissen circular tureens and covers.
Circa 1740.
Painted in Kakiemon style with the flying fox/squirrel design.
The lid and base each with a moulded band and painted with a red squirrel above banded hedges and another yellow squirrel all amongst Indianische Blumen.
The lid with scalloped brown edge and a pinecone finial. Underglaze blue crossed swords to the base.
Diameter: 19cm. (7 1/2in.).
