A rare pair of Herrengrund copper-gilt, Hungary circa 1700. These cups are souvenirs from about 1700 of the Herrengrund copper mines in Hungary. The inscriptions allude to the miracles wrought by the local water. High in copper sulphate, the water collected in hollows and deposited copper on to iron scraps.
