This design is based on a Chinese original. A Dutch plate with similar decoration is found in the Groninger Museum, inv. 2002-303; it is illustrated alongside a Chinese version of the plate in Jorg, ‘Famille Verte: Chinese Porcelain in Green Enamels’ (Groninger Museum, 2011), p. 65.
