Pair of Chinese famille verte plates, Kangxi (1662-1722), c.1720, each decorated to the central roundel with a small landscape scene with a hut, surrounded by a geometric floral band with three floral crests containing dianthus, peony, an aster-type bloom and small lotus flowers, the cavetto with gilt lambrequin design and the rim with four cartouches containing scrolling flowerheads against an orange ground with gilt diaper pattern, all encircled by a fine ring in underglaze cobalt blue, the reverse with two floral sprigs in iron red.

Condition: One with chip and fritting to rim, the other with one chip to underside of rim and wear to enamels.
