Pair of Chinese famille rose octagonal plates, Qianlong (1736-95), painted with a central scene of birds perching beneath flowering hibiscus and peony amongst ceramic vessels of ancient bronze form, the border with delicate garland of hibiscus flower and lotus.

Condition: One with a flake and glaze fault to underside of rim, the other with two tiny glaze flakes, one tiny glaze flake to underside of rim.
