Painted Dial Silver Pair Cased Verge.

An 18th Century English verge with polychrome enamel hunting scene in silver pair cases.  Full plate fire gilt movement with turned pillars.  Pierced and engraved cock, silver regulator disc.  Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring.  White enamel dial, central white chapter of Roman numerals around which a polychrome enamel scene depicting hounds chasing a stag, Fine gilt beetle and poker hands.  Matching silver pair cases, silver pendant and bow, maker’s mark “TC”.

In excellent overall condition.  John Wontner, free of the Clockmakers Company 1770.  A maker of repute who also signed his watches with his name reversed:- Jno Rentnow
