The artist C.H.Hart is perhaps also the photographer Conway Hart. There are two albumen carte-de-visite photographs by him in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery, one being of Major-General George Chichele Plowden with his son George Tertius Chichele Plowden. Working portrait painters were often early adopters of photography.

The first recorded work by C.H. Hart to be sold at auction was The Hop Pickers, a large work in oil on canvas, sold at Christies in 2006. (£3600.00).
