Meissen tea canister, circa 1740, of rectangular form with sloping shoulders, painted in enamels and gilt with Orientalist harbour scenes, with figures gathered at the water’s edge amongst barrels and rigging, ships visible on the water beyond, the curved shoulders with a band of intricate scrolling gilt, floral sprigs and insects, surmounted by a later gilt cover, the base with ‘No’.
