A Man About Town.

Bernard Bloch was an entrepreneur in the Austro-Hungarian ceramic industry. In 1895 he purchased the successful firm of C. Teichert, Eichwald, and gained fame by the production of figural tobacco containers and other tobacco products, together with a range of finely modelled terracotta figures such as our Man About Town. During the Second World War the factory was confiscated by the Nazis and sold to the company of Dr. H. Wider & Co. from the German city of Thuringe.
