A late Georgian mahogany wheel barometer with satinwood marquetry inlay by E Bates of Kettering.
The mahogany case has satinwood stringing and marquetry shell and sunflower inlay decoration and is crowned by an architectural pediment with central brass finial.
The 8 inch circular silvered and engraved scale is signed 'E Bates Kettering'. There is an inset thermometer to the throat.
